Boring......zzzzzzzzz

A Customer from Chislehurst, 25th March, 2008

Was one of those movies where you become fidgety in your seat and watch the clock...couldn't wait for it to be over...very slow and predictable. My friend on the other hand loved it so it just goes to show that you can't please everyone all of the time! :-)

nessluvsmatt from from Walsall, 31st March, 2008

I went to watch this the first day it came out at the cinema as i love the first one. it was brilliant i dont know how anyone can not like it. The dancing is just unbelieavable and i have downloaded the music from the film. if u like hip hop and street dance then this is deffinately a film for you! i thought it was as good as the first.

Step up one is streets ahead of this...

PaulaWestwood from from Ashton-Under-Lyne, 24th March, 2008

Thought this was a pretty samey sort of film that the trailers hyped above what it delivered. Step up one was streets ahead of this one in content and action, this promised to be a more than adequate follow on, but I was left hoping there could never be a '3'. The choreography and movers were ok, the story weak. You can definately step aside and let this one pass unless you really just have to see it. Worth a miss.

Recommended for dance fans. Not a classic.

Bezman from , 11th April, 2008

The opening to this film is stunning. In an underground railway carriage, a drum is broken out and one by one, the majority of the passengers reveal themselves to be members of the notorious '410' crew, using their environment as a makeshift stage - shimmying under a seat or swinging round poles. As they toyed with the police running to catch them, my expectations for the rest of the film were set high, only to be later dashed.

Several tropes stick out, as do a few cliches. Characters are never fully utilised and motives generally feel forced, with a few macguffins never properly explained. Really, though, the plot isn't the main draw of the film.

The plot is simply an excuse for lots and lots of dance sequences. From the opener, through various battles (breakdancing dance-offs) - one incorporating trampolines to some small effect - through various training shots at the dance school to the final battle at the eponymous streets.

There are certainly some impressive power moves and fluid dancing. However, for me it just didn't seem as impressive as the original. Whereas that ended with a fusion between ballet and breakdancing - a unique and inspiring combination - this film simply ends with the fare of the newly established crew from the dance school.

The finale felt slightly lacking - certainly above my skill level, but slightly lacking in power moves or original work.

This may yet be the dance film of the year and I'm glad I was able to see it on the big screen. My father and mother (both OAPs) also enjoyed it. It simply falls short of the standard set by the original, despite what the opening may lead you to believe.

step up to the streets

Gem130 from from Paisley, 4th October, 2008

The dancers were amazing but felt the story line was obvious. I have seen it once but wouldn't go out and buy the DVD. Would reccomend people to watch it and see what they make of the film.

Great dance scenes!

Deenie76 from from London, 4th October, 2008

The story line and acting is unbelievably cheesy but great if you're looking for a bit of light entertainment. I gave this movie 4 out of 5 stars just for the great dance scenes - the final dance routine is out of this world - LOVED it!!!
