More of the same...

If you have seen the first Harold and Kumar film, where they get high and spend the film hunting down a White Castle fast-food place to sort out their munchies, then you will know pretty much what to expect from this sequel. The film begins practically right where the last one left off, with the two guys preparing to journey to Amsterdam so that Harold can be with Maria. However a misunderstanding, and a wave of terrorist paranoia, sees the pair taken off the plane and branded as terror suspects before being deposited in Guantanamo Bay. A lucky escape later and they find themselves on the run trying to clear their name. Along their journey to get help they run into all manner of American folk, and Neil Patrick Harris (who once more plays himself up to great comic effect). The film begins pretty much as it means to go on, and in the opening moments we have diarroea gags and masturbation jokes, pretty much setting the level that they intend to play to. However in amongst the gross out antics there are also (as with the first film) some genuinely great comedic turns, and the two leads are once more easy to watch and like. In amongst the wit and capers there are less-than subtle plays on the race issues in the US at present, although there is a good message conveyed towards the end. There is also a new love story this time as Kumar meets the one that got away and realises he wants her back. All in all, if you watched the first and loved it, then you will enjoy the stoner duo continue their antics in this film. If you didn't enjoy the first film, then don't expect anything from this one. As for me.....yeah, I dug it :)

a bit too forced and somehow cheesy

Picktokyo from from London, England, 11th June, 2008

To be honest actually I did enjoy this movie a bit. There are parts where is actually funny and you can laugh about it. But it is just sometimes a bit forced, yes it is funny when you see it for the first time, but when you think about it again - nah, it wasnt that funny. Other than that, this is the film you would expect from youth American comedy. a bit like American Pie type of comedy, slightly better. And another thing: It is really weird to see someone act like Bush-look-a-like blowing weed in the movie. The romantic part is quite cheesy and pretty dull, I think they should stay with comedy.

Some good bits in this film, mostly just an entertaining nightmare, wasn't paying enough attention to it really - just sucked

Great movie, so funny, rude and explicit, the perfect combination. Hopefully they make a third movie :D

Infantile at best

A Customer from Milton Keynes, 9th February, 2010

This was the most crass and vulgar film I have seen since Animal House in the 80's. Humour best suited to adolescent boys! It was so bad I switched off after 45 minutes and I only watched that much as I kept hoping it would get better. Very disappointing
