Did we jinx this??

Mickey Mouse from Dorset, England, 12th May, 2008

It's not often that the americans make something with this much hype and make a mess of it. I mean, seriously, did we jinx it because of a british actress taking the lead role?! In all honesty though, I thought Michelle Ryan was perfectly cut out for it. She was really great and reminded me of Jennifer Garner in Alias. Infact, pretty much all the cast were fine. It was unfortunately the writing that let this series down. Strangely though, the first episode was really good, I was really getting into it. Then suddenly the quality just seemed to plummet drastically with episode two. The script was awful and the screenplay for the action scenes was complete crap. There was no imagination with the plots at all, and it soon became boring and highly cliched with some really cliched characters. And loads of times there were things left totally unexplained, characters that never seemed to have a reason to exist. Confusing. The special effects were generally fine, although there was the odd naff bit occasionally. The worst thing for me was the bionic abilities. Where were they?? I thought she was supposed to be the billion dollar woman. So why does she struggle to take out a single untrained civilian(episode 6 i think)? I could've kicked that guy's ass for crying out loud! And in the second episode she gets completely beaten up by a soldier. I was waiting for the bit where he turned out to be bionic aswell. But no, he was just a normal soldier. Other than the first episode, the fight scenes were generally lame. Billion dollars, eh? What a waste of money!

shaky start but improves

A Customer from Cambs, 12th May, 2008

Its a shame it won't be getting a 2nd season as the show did have some average episodes at the start but it improves a lot. It may not be up there with new BSG show or Sopranos but I found this show fun. I really don't understand the hate the show gets.

Disappointing

A Customer from Birmingham, 24th March, 2008

Only eight episodes in this first series (because of the Hollywood writer's strike) and it is unlikely there will be a second series as ratings were indifferent. Having seen all the episodes I was disappointed by the lack of action in most of the stories, and there was too much angst between Michelle Ryan and her sister in the series.

This was much better than I expected, A very deep storyline as well as plently of action sequences. Very good acting espically from Lucy Hale who I think will be a big star in the future.

Way off target

A Customer from Lutterworth, 15th November, 2009

This is one made-for-tv series that studio executives will regret giving the 'green-light' for years to come. Michelle Ryan stumbles through a series of 'adventures' that are a. completely forgettable b. ponderous and lacking any action and c.an insult to the original Bionic Woman. AVOID.

A 'helps to pass the time' sort of movie. It was all too easy to hit the pause button and go make a phone call or have a cuppa.
