After accidentally witnessing a murder, Tom and his pals Huck and Joe run away to become pirates, swearing to never reveal their secret. But when a man is wrongfully accused of the deed, they know they've got to come forward with the truth. A faithful adaptation of the Twain novel, with the exception of Jim's character alteration (from a man to boy). David O. Selznick produces, and William Cameron Menzies contributes wonderful Art Direction.

Set-bound but excellent version of the children's classic by Mark Twain.

Having read and reread Mark Twains Adventures of Tom Sawyer. I enjoyed every minute of this film. The humourous parts were real slapstick.

By boys enjoyed this film. The acting is terrible, but that didn't seem to matter to the kids.

There's nowt like nostalgia!

Carol Weaver from Carlisle, Cumbria., 6th January, 2006

I have seen this film at various points in my 59 years, and loved it every time. It won't evoke nostalgia for everyone, so all I can say is that if you like a darn good yarn full of character, then this is for you.
