How does DVD rental from Sofa Cinema work?

With Sofa Cinema, you can rent as many DVDs as you like for one flat monthly fee. You can keep your DVDs as long as you like: there are never any due dates or late fees - ever.

Sign up online, and choose which films you'd like to watch from our library of over 60,500 titles. We'll send you films via first-class post, and depending on your membership level, you can have 1, 2, 3 or 4 films out at any one time. You can keep them for as long as you want, and when you've finished, return them to us in the pre-paid envelope. When we get them back, we post you your next available title.

We want to give you the chance to try Sofa Cinema, so new customers (on 1, 2 and 3 disc packages) are eligible for a 30-day trial, absolutely free. If you decide Sofa Cinema is not for you, all you have to do is cancel your membership via the website and return all DVDs before the end of the trial period, and you won't be charged anything.

If you are enjoying Sofa Cinema, you don't have to do anything more. At the end of your 30-day free trial period you will automatically become a full Sofa Cinema member and will start to benefit from unlimited rentals.

How long can I keep the games for?

You can keep your games (and DVDs!) for as long as you like, there are never any late fees with Sofa Cinema.

When you have finished with your game, simply return it to us in the postage paid envelope and when we get them back, we post you your next available title.

What consoles do you have games for?

We currently stock games for PlayStation 2 consoles and PSP (PlayStation Portable). We also stock UMD format films, which you can play on a PSP.

You can choose to rent from a selection of top chart titles for the Sony PlayStation 2 and PSP in exactly the same way that you're used to renting films. Just add them to your queue by clicking on the 'Rent Now' button.

Why do I have to supply my credit card details?

We are legally required to confirm that all of our members are aged 18 years or older. It also validates your given address and covers us in case our DVDs are not returned. Until you become a full member of Sofa Cinema, no money will be deducted from your credit card. We'd also like to reassure you at this point that our site is completely secure (we use SSL technology) so there's no need to worry about giving us your details.

What's the selection like?

Sofa Cinema has over 60,500 titles - that's virtually every DVD available in the UK, and at least five times the selection of an average video store. We have everything from new Hollywood releases to cinema classics; from the best in independent cinema to your favourite TV series. We hold over 1,000 copies of our most popular titles - try comparing that with your local video store!

Is there a minimum contract?

With Sofa Cinema there is no minimum contract. There are no cancellation fees and no commitments.
